Upon encountering this sentence from Aeschylus’ unparalleled masterpiece, The Oresteia trilogy, I was inspired to conceive a series that underwent a meticulous seven-year development process.
“The Sonnet of Bistoon” is a play that artfully portrays the anger, hatred, bloodshed and gruesome crimes, passed down from one generation to the next.
The arrangement immerses the audience in the indelible darkness of history. However, hope emerges always, as a beacon of light, illuminating the pages of human history. A kind of hope that overcomes, after looking into the rusty barriers and bloody trenches of human experience. It is this very hope that ultimately takes the steer and poignantly asks:
“Where will it end?
Where will it sink to sleep and rest,
this murderous hate, this Fury?”
