Between Myself and I – Mehrnaz Rezaei

In these works, faces and figures emerge at the boundary between realism and deformation—a space where human emotions, memories, and experiences intertwine. These visages reflect not only individual identity but also the gaze of others and the inner transformations shaped by time.
The faces shift between solidity and fluidity, mirroring our ever-evolving understanding of self and those around us. What is reality: the tangible world we observe, or the landscapes born within the folds of mind and feeling?
My paintings are an exploration of this invisible threshold—between sight and perception, between the face presented to the world and the one held within.
