Portrait : Figuré et Défiguré is a series of commissioned portraits
where each of the seven selected artists represents their subjects in a unique style and manner. Throughout history, people have been represented through their faces; where emotions and expressions are predominant. For this exhibition, a group of outstanding, talented artists were selected to create portraits each representing a subject of their own choice. Whether the portrait is the farthest extent of abstraction, follows an idealized artistic convention, or the individual features of the subject, its true value lies not in appearance but in the ability to portray the inner essence and significance of the subject; that which constitutes true reality.
ARTISTS: Afarin Sajedi, Habib Farajabadi, Hiva Alizadeh, Maryam Ashkanian, Mojé Assefjah, Mojtaba Tabatabaie and Ramtin Zad
